Volunteers are needed to purchase groceries using designated funds, bring them to 2390 West 7th street, pack the groceries in Neighborhood TakeOut canvas bags, attend part of the classes, and ditribute groceries to the women after class. World Repair Community Forum - Wed., June 11 at 7 PM at Sabes JCC:
Ending Temporary Status - Providing a Permanent Home for Immigrants
Congress has provided a temporary home for thousands of immigrants from many countries, including Liberia, El Salvador, Honduras and Somalia - immigrants fleeing their homes because of civil wars and other threats to families. Minnesota is home to the largest Liberian community in the United States. Many families have lived here for more than 15 years. Hear from leaders of these immigrant communities and advocates about how we in Minnesota can help end temporary status and provide a permanent home for immigrants in our state. Moderated by Vic Rosenthal and Jewish Community Action. Sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Community Action, and National Council of Jewish Women.
